Day in the Life: Event Recap

March break’s “A Day in the Life with Wilson College of Leadership & Civic Engagement” was an experience designed to inspire students to delve into the vibrant community surrounding McMaster University, potentially igniting a spark that could lead them to call it home one day.
The day began with a warm and enthusiastic welcome from the dedicated Wilson staff, faculty, and engaging guest speakers.
Notably, the event featured esteemed 2023 Wilson Scholars, including Loa Gordon, Assistant Director of ARMS, and the dynamic Ebunoluwa Soneye (EB) from Empowerment Squared in Hamilton, who shared their insights and experiences, leaving attendees inspired and eager to seize their own opportunities for leadership and civic engagement.
An immersive lecture experience with professor Llewellyn and guest speaker Erin Goetz, HamOntYouth offered students a sneak peak into the world of academic dialogue.
Lastly, students were given a general residence tour and discussion at Peter George Centre for Living and Learning. Here, Piper Plavin – the incoming MSU President shared her personal involvement on campus and experiences as an Honours Political Science Student.
