Taking the Lead
Did you hear? We are launching a Forum.
The Forum provides a space where scholars, practitioners and students can connect and share their leadership and civic engagement experiences. It centers on valuable lessons learned and raises important questions about a range of challenging societal issues. Taking the Lead is a forum that encourages creativity. The content includes occasional papers, op-eds, podcasts, videos, digital storytelling, zines and more!
Theme for 2025-26
Tomorrow starts Today: Next Generation in Civic Action
In both turbulent and more hopeful times, effective leadership and civic engagement requires creativity, active participation, and collaboration from all members of society. In response, Wilson College’s current theme: Tomorrow Starts Today: Next Generation in Civic Action reflects on how youth participate and engage with various societal actors.
What do we mean by civic action?
Civic action refers to the many ways individuals and organizations participate in the democratic life of their communities and country. This year, the Forum is particularly interested in receiving submissions which explore how youth can and do engage in and lead civic action.
